Upgrading is one of the projects of SAFEL which is very essential to power our spirit up until the end of the period. This time, Upgrading was held on 4th-5th May 2019, it was the time when we as the staff of SAFEL needed to refresh our mind after all of the hard works that we already done. This project also has a purpose to motivate the staff to keep processing and exploring the brilliant ideas related to this name of the project. A week before this agenda was held, there was technical meeting to socialize assignments and to classify the groups for the participants. The Upgrading was located in Omahe Simbok which means “Mother’s House” in Pentingsari, Turi, Sleman, Yogyakarta.
The project started by gathering in front of Gedung Kuliah 4, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Yogyakarta State University. After all of the staffs were gathered, the bus picked us up and took us to the destination. After one hour of trip, we arrived. The smiles of the staff could not be hidden, we were all happy and relief. It was time to release our responsibilities temporarily before we go back to face the reality that already waiting to be taken. Omahe Simbok, a homey and peaceful place, was a right place which can help us to calm ourselves down. The project started by opening and giving speeches from the head of the project and the president of SAFEL and followed by material presentation from Ms. Aprilliana who was previously the head of department of Human Resources Development SAFEL 2018.
In the night of this event, we were having a lot fun and watching drama comedy from the staff. There was also bonfire and snacks which completed the pleasant atmosphere. Besides the warm of bonfire, we also felt the warm of family in this event. Around 9 PM, after we were tired of laughing and joking, it was the time for sharing session. The staffs were divided according to their own departments to make it private for them to share their feelings and emotion. This opportunity was held to improve their intimacy toward each other. We did not know the exact time we finished this. After the sharing session, we took a rest because we were all tired both physically and mentally.
The next day was the moment that we were waiting for, having fun in outbond! It was so tiring because we had to get through many posts and a lot of challenging tracks. The outbond taught us about solidarity, togetherness, and the importance of communication. This event was ended by photo session and happy smiles from the staffs that minds were already refreshed.
