UNESHCO (UNY English Competition) is a national-level English competition for college students held annually by the student organization “SAFEL” (Foreign Language Student Activity Forum) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY). This competition is one of the events held to commemorate UNY’s anniversary and consists of a speech contest and a micro-teaching contest. UNESHCO is entering its 11th year and will be held on May 30, 2026, in the Seminar Room on the 2nd Floor of the W.S. Rendra Building, Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture, Yogyakarta State University. This year, UNESHCO #11 carries the theme “Beyond Words: Speak with Purpose, Compete with Global Impact.” Through this theme, it is hoped that participants will speak with confidence and be bold enough to voice their opinions as a prerequisite for achieving their dreams. UNESHCO itself aims to enhance participants’ self-confidence, creativity, and critical thinking in addressing current and future challenges.
