TOEFL PREPARATION AND TEST 2023 As an organization that focuses on the field of foreign languages, UKM Bahasa Asing “SAFEL” UNY has many work programs that aim to help improve the foreign language skills of its members and the public. One of the examples of the work program is the TOEFL Preparation and Test (TPT) under the supervision of the FOLT department. This work program aims to be a tool for participants to improve their English language skills through the TOEFL test. In addition, TPT can also help participants who are currently requiring certificates or TOEFL scores for certain purposes.
This year, TOEFL Preparation and Test was held with the theme “Start Your Race, Take It to the Next Level!”, It is expected that this event can help develop the English language skills of its participants, and the results can be used as well as possible to help their interests. The implementation of TPT 2023 is in collaboration with an English-language institution called International Language Programs (ILP) in Yogyakarta. This institution provides a TOEFL Prediction Test that is like the original TOEFL test, a credible certificate for registering for CPNS and BUMN, and several scholarships.
The event series of TPT 2023 is held online and offline. The registration is done online using the Google Form platform and is divided into 3 waves, including Early Bird (May 26–31), Night Owl (June 1–10), and Extended (June 11–14). Meanwhile, the D-Day event was held offline on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the 2nd floor Seminar Room, WS. Rendra Building, FBSB UNY.
TPT activities are divided into two main sessions, which are brief workshops and TOEFL tests. The workshop session was accompanied by Mrs. Aloysia Linda Setyaningrum, S.Pd., M.A., as the tutor from the ILP institution. This activity contains a brief explanation related to ILP institutions, explanations and examples of TOEFL questions, as well as some tips on answering the questions.
After that, it continued with the TOEFL test work session for 2 hours, which was supervised by ILP. In every section change, there will be a signal from the ILP to change to the next page. After the test, the certificate can be taken after a week at the SAFEL secretariat.
This TOEFL Preparation and Test program has been going successfully. The impression of the message conveyed by the participants through the feedback form also shows that this event was running well and none of the participants had any problems. Hopefully, this event will be beneficial and give some good impressions to the participants, the institution, the committee, and everyone involved. Thank you very much to the TPT 2023 committee!
