Comparative Study is a work program intended to expand the relations between Foreign Languages UKM “SAFEL” UNY and other organizations that have similarities with SAFEL (focusing on languages and culture). The purpose of this event is to add more insights and knowledge for both organizations’ crews. This year, SAFEL’s Comparative Study under the tagline “Open the New Gate: Bridging Ideas, Building the Futures” chose SES Telkom University which is located in Bandung to collaborate with.
We planned this road trip not only to visit SES Telkom Bandung but also to have fun after the event. So, we planned to visit several popular place in Bandung such as Cihampelas (Ciwalk), alun-alun Bandung and also the populer street in Bandung called Braga. We gathered in UNY’s Rectorate at around 04.00 am, departed at 05.30 am, and arrived on time at 08.00 am at the venue (Bandung Techno Park Telkom University).
This event begins with an opening by MC, continued by greetings and presentations from both organizations, game session, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), impression messages, and lastly, documentation session. In the FGD session, we combine SAFEL and WEC departments and divide them into groups. We discussed about our work programs, the differences as well as the similarities between both organizations. The FGD session is one of the most interesting part of this Comparative Study event because we can easily connect with different people in one place. After spending our time during the main event, we take pictures and videos together in the Rectorate of Telkom Bandung. And it’s a wrap for our main agenda. We said our “see you later” to all the crews of SES before leaving Telkom Bandung.
We head back to a restaurant to fill up our energy before going to the destination. In the souvenir store, there are various items that are Bandung’s specialty, so we didn’t hesitate to grab some to bring back home. And finally, after that, we went to our last destination, Jalan Braga. In Jalan Braga, we were given some time to stroll around the places we wanted to visit. So we walked along the sidewalks, took pictures, and bought treats as much as we liked.
Time after time passed, now it’s our time to go back home. We ended up being on the bus and sang different songs from different languages. Our hearts were filled with joy and we went back home and safely arrived in Yogyakarta. Special thanks are extended to those who helped with the planning, setup, and execution of this event. All of your dedication was remarkable in creating a memorable experience in this event.
