Studi Banding is a program to visit another university’s student activity or/and other organizations that have correlations with SAFEL. Studi Banding is an activity only for the staff and also the members of SAFEL. This program aims to get new information and insights that will be useful for the development of organizations. Not only for gaining information and insights, we usually went away while refreshing our mind by visiting cool places and releasing our burden at the end of the year. This year, Studi Banding was held on 19th November 2021 with the theme: Collaborate in One Energy, Upgrade for Better Quality.

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we could not visit the destination as usuals, but we used an online platform, Zoom meeting. We had a flight theme throughout the event, from preparing boarding passes for all participants to using various aviation themes during our flight (the event). We opened the event with a welcoming speech from the chief committee, head of SAFEL, and also the advisor of SAFEL. Then we had a game, Knowing France Better, for warming up as we would indulge ourselves in France.

In the next agenda, we met two inspiring people from the French Embassy in Indonesia. They are Mr. Dominique Roubert, Press Attache of the French Embassy in Indonesia, and Mrs. Annisa Fauziah, Deputy Attache for University Cooperation, IFI – French Embassy in Indonesia. We got a lot of new information we never knew before, such as how to get a scholarship for a Master’s Degree in French universities, how the culture of the French people is, how to get a job in the French Embassy in Indonesia, and many more. In general, we got to know more about consulates and embassies.

Surprisingly, Mrs. Annisa Fauziah prepared a pop-up quiz with prizes at the end of her presentation. She asked for some information she previously presented, then everyone who answered correctly first got the gift. It was tempting and challenging, and everyone got so excited to answer the questions.

The next event in this program is virtual travel. We traveled virtually to cool places in France. First, we landed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. Next, we went to the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees Avenue, Versailles Palace, Louvre Museum, and Paris Disneyland as the final visit. We stopped by several times to enjoy some tasty foods and sweets that are widely known in France, such as Baguette, Croissants, Macarons, and Eclairs. Even though we only could enjoy this trip through the online meeting, we still felt very refreshed and had fun together. At the end of the trip, we prayed so that one day we would be successful and able to visit these places together directly, not virtually.

The event went well throughout the day. The MC closed the event and bid farewell to all of the passengers. We hope that next year, the Studi Banding will be held offline and all of the participants will be able to visit many places together and have fun as we extend our relations with other organizations. -Rere&Zenni
