STANDING RULES & REGISTRATION FORM FOR MICRO-TEACHING COMPETITION UNY ENGLISH COMPETITION (UNESHCO 2019)

1. MICRO-TEACHING COMPETITION

Micro-teaching competition is aimed to develop skill in teaching for student of colleges which use English as the language of communication and instruction.

Specific Rules:

1. Participants are university students (S1) in Indonesia.
2. Registration is no later than 6^th April 2019, including the submission of the lesson plan.
3. Participants must follow two kinds of selection :

a. The administrative selection by sending the lesson plan (RPP), written in ENGLISH, following the Curriculum of 2013.

The lesson plan must clearly state the following components:

• Core and basic competence
• Goals/Objectives
• Indicators of the stated goals/objectives
• Approach/Method
• Focused skills/topics/materials
• Teaching and learning activities
• Assessment (the techniques & the instruments)
• Teaching aids
• References

b. The microteaching selection

Ten selected lesson plans are to be delivered in 30-minute Microteaching performance in the final round on 27^th April, 2019, in Faculty of Education, Yogyakarta State University. 15 seconds extension is allowed. Exceeding from this extension will result in losing ONE point of the overall assessment score. Lesson Plan Selection Result will be announced on ukmsafel.student.uny.ac.id.

4. Lesson plan must be tailored to meet a quality instruction for Junior and High school students.
5. All works and teaching and learning documents must use English.
6. Microteaching performance is assessed on the basis of the following criteria :
   • Teaching delivery
   • Classroom English
   • Effective use of media (teaching aids).
   • Good match between teaching and learning activities and goals
7. The announcement of The Top Ten finalists is on 17^th April 2019 and the announcement is via the official website ukmsafel.student.uny.ac.id.
8. Registration and Lesson Plan Submission are Free.
9. Participants who pay registration are only the Top Ten finalists. After the announcement of The Top Ten finalists, participants’ payment (Rp 150.000,00) are no later than 20^th April 2019.
10. Final round will be held on 27^th April 2019.
11. The winner announcement will be held on 27^th April 2019 after the competition finishes at the closing ceremony of UNYFest.
12. The Organizing Committee will only provide LCD projector and screen, and electricity. Additional teaching aids are the participants’ responsibility.
13. After all the participants following all the registration steps, there will be a confirmation from the committee and also an announcement via the official website ukmsafel.student.uny.ac.id.
