Every year, UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL hold a lot of interesting program for its member, staff, and others. Event like Fesbud, PELBA, PAB, and UNESHCO is the main attraction that makes UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL shines. Among all of those events, PAB is one of the crucial event in SAFEL.
Now, what is PAB? PAB is one of the programs from the HRD Department of SAFEL. This event aims to promote SAFEL to YSU students and open recruitment for new members of UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL.
Penerimaan Anggota Baru was supposed to be held in YSU. But due to COVID-19 pandemic, PAB was held online this year. The platform used for the event was Zoom Meeting.
PAB have a number of stages. The first one is Display UKM, after that we have Registration, Studium Generale, Interview, New Member Announcement, and finally we have Inauguration.
As stated above, PAB starts with Display UKM. This year, Display UKM was held on August, 25th 2021. In this stage, new students of YSU can watch a promotional video of UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL. In that video, you can learn about SAFEL and its achievements.
The second stage of PAB is Registration. By following the instruction and the requirement in the pamphlet, YSU students can apply to be new members. The registration was held on 25 Agustus 2021 – 29 Agustus 2021(Batch 1), and 30 Agustus 2021 – 2 September 2021 (Batch 2).
After registration ended, we have Studium Generale. In SG, the new member candidate will learn more in depth about SAFEL. All departments of SAFEL will be presenting about their own department in detail and taking questions from the new member candidates. SG was held on 11 September 2021
Next stage of PAB was Interview. All the new member candidates will get questioned by the Head of Department of SAFEL about general understanding of SAFEL. The interview was held on 17 September 2021 – 19 September 2021.
After going through all four stages of PAB (Display UKM, Registration, SG, Interview), the staff of SAFEL will make an announcement. The candidates will be informed to go to SAFEL’s website to see the list of new members of SAFEL. The announcement was posted on 25 September 2021.
Last but not least, the Inauguration. This part of PAB is about celebrating the candidates that pass as new members of SAFEL. In inauguration, there are games, special performances, and more.
PAB SAFEL is a long program. Its about more than a month, from start (Display UKM) to finish (Inauguration). But that long duration is necessary, because it’s for the regeneration of SAFEL members. To all of the new members of SAFEL 2021, please enjoy your stay on UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL. -Abi-
