One of the first annual work programs of the HRD department of UKM bahasa asing SAFEL is the Open House, which aims to introduce what activities exist in our UKM. In general, this event provides an overview of the work program that will be carried out by the committee that has been formed for one year. Intended for all SAFEL members, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students, and the general public. The event will present work programs from various departments and subdepartments.
SAFEL 2024’s open house theme was SAFEL’s Whimsical Wonderland: Where Fairytales Come to Life! Held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 15.30 WIB at the Student Center UNY 1st Floor. In accordance with the theme raised has a philosophy about every step in SAFEL is an enchanting part, creating boundless stories. Through the diversity of departments, SAFEL becomes a place where dreams and fairy tales come to life and create experiences that amaze every individual involved.
The event began with an opening greeting by the master of ceremonies. Then, it was followed by an opening speech from Dianing Ayu as the Chief of Committee, Angeli Carissa as the President of SAFEL, and a warm speech from Ms. Nila Kurnila Sari as an advisor to SAFEL.
After the speech, the event continued by cutting the red ribbon for the inauguration of the new committee of UKM bahasa asing SAFEL for the 2024 period. The committees that are listed in the committee structure are officially part of the SAFEL’s committee and are ready to participate in various activities.
After the end of the inauguration ceremony, it was followed by the presentation of work programs from each department and sub-department. Starting from the presentation of the Pengurus Inti (PI), which consists of the president, secretary, and treasurer. Public relations (PR), Human Resources and Development (HRD), Public Speaking (PS), which includes presentations from sub-departments which is English Debate Society (EDS), followed the presentation by Foreign Language Training (FOLT), Cross-Cultural Learning Media (CCU-LM), which includes presentations from sub-departments which are Safel Dance Club (SDC) and Safelite. The presentation introduced what was in it started from the members, the work program that had been planned and also opened general questions and answers.
The expectation from the presentation is that participants can get to know the contents of each department and sub-department and are interested in participating in the activities of UKM bahasa asing SAFEL.
Not only presentation, but there were games such as guessing pictures and finding missing letters in English. Another series of events was a costume parade where several models walked in the center of the stage wearing clothes from 6 countries and introduced the clothes using the language of each country. At the end of the event, there were special performances from the Safelite and SDC. The sub-departments conclude the SAFEL open house 2024.
I sincerely thank all the organizers, emcees, costume parade models, Safelite, and SDC for their wonderful performances. I would also like to thank all the organizers and everyone who took part in this event. We hope to see you again at the SAFEL Open House in 2025.
