Saturday night (9/2), the series of SAFEL’s agenda in 2018 was initiated by Open House SAFEL 2018. This event was open for public and held in purpose to re-introduce our organization and to expose our plans during this period. Two honorable guests were able to attend and about 120 audiences crowded the venue.
The theme brought this year was “Exploring Self-Identity in Diversity”. We came from different interests and backgrounds and this tagline portrayed how diverse they are. However, the theme held us together.
The event was opened by welcoming speeches featuring new supervisor of SAFEL, Dr. Anita Triastuti, M.A., and the new Expert Staff of Technology, Research and Development Affair, Bapak Nur Hidayanto Pancoro Setyo Putro, Ph.D. Both distinguished guests explained that SAFEL, as a student activity focusing on language, can create our own opportunities to attain more achievements by developing competitions. They also encouraged us and other students’ activities to keep moving forward to expand the university achievements. The agenda was continued by some entertainments by Safelite.
Coming to the talk-show as main agenda of the night, the Master of Ceremony invited the moderator and the board members of SAFEL. The board included the chief, the secretary, the treasurer, and all heads of each department. The moderator then led the discussion and talked about what’s new in SAFEL this year.
Finally, the night ended with a closing performance by Safel Dance Club and was followed by the crew’s photo session. All were happy after this long tiring day. (Fau)
