Creating bonds is inevitable for human beings. Especially when human beings are considered as a social creature in which they need other in order for them to survive and grow. This of course applies to Organization as well. A good Organization is one that keeps growing and moving forward. However, Organizations have their own limit of growing. They will sooner or later need to look for new and fresh ideas. One of many ways to find new and fresh ideas is to learn from others. Exchanging information and ideas among Organization that has similar views and goals can help us.
Under that circumstances, Networking is present for SAFEL. Networking is an event where SAFEL’s crew pay visit to other Student Activity Forum/ Organization/ Communities that align with SAFEL’s goal in developing their members’ language and culture knowledge and skills.
This year Networking was held in Student English Activity in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (SEA UMY). SEA UMY was chosen because we see that SEA UMY is actively doing programs that are meant to develop their members’ english skill. Fortunately, the people at SEA UMY was very friendly and cooperative. However, due to the long distance between UNY and UMY SAFEL’s crew decided that they will go there together.
Upon arriving we got welcomed by SEA UMY at Gedung Pascasarjana Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. He guided us to the venue. More of SEA UMY crew are waiting there. Networking started by being opened by SAFEL’s President’s opening speech and followed by the opening speech from SEA UMY President.
Moving to the main event is presentation session brought by both SAFEL UNY and SEA UMY representative. It was very amusing that we were able to gain more knowledge by watching the presentation. However, wanting to know more about each other both crews asked question to each other in a discussion forum.
Lastly Networking closed its curtain by having a photo session of both crew members altogether. It was a very valuable experience, we get to learn new things and we also get to know more wonderful people. It was fun.
