Latihan Dasar Organisasi, known as LDO, is one of the work programs from Human Resources Development (HRD) to recruit new crews of UKM BAHASA ASING “SAFEL” UNY. This year’s theme for LDO is “Guard the Unity, Spark the Movement, Shape the Future”, in the context of the Latihan Dasar Organisasi (LDO), this tagline highlights the essential values of organizational learning. “Guard the Unity” emphasizes the importance of maintaining solidarity, trust, and togetherness as the foundation of any organization. “Spark the Movement” encourages participants to take initiative, ignite positive action, and become the driving force of change. “Shape the Future” signifies the responsibility of young leaders to envision, plan, and create a better future for their organization and community. Overall, the tagline reflects that through LDO, participants are not only trained in organizational skills but also guided to unite, act, and lead with purpose. This year, LDO was held offline on October 25–26, 2025, Villa Merpati, Kaliurang. Several stages must be completed during the journey with LDO: registration, interview, technical meeting, and the day.
The Leadership Development Orientation (LDO) 2025 officially began with the participants departing from the Student Center to Villa Merpati aboard two buses filled with excitement and anticipation. The group arrived safely at 2:30 P.M., ready to embark on a two-day journey of growth and collaboration.
The event opened at 3:30 P.M., hosted by the Master of Ceremony (MC). Warm and inspiring opening remarks were delivered by Nabila Syahgita, the Chairperson of LDO, followed by Shari Cahya Trimurti, the President of SAFEL, and concluded by Miss Cinthia Reswari, whose message emphasized enthusiasm and unity throughout the program.
The main agenda featured a dynamic and insightful presentation on achievement and organizational development by Angeli (President of SAFEL 2024) and Ilzama. Their sessions captivated the audience with motivational ideas and practical lessons on leadership and personal excellence. Following the main session, the Musyang (General Assembly) committee held a preparatory discussion designed to equip LDO participants with essential knowledge and skills for organizing Musyang 2025 effectively.
As night fell, the atmosphere shifted to one of creativity and joy through a talent show featuring drama performances under the theme Princess. Five groups took the stage in sequence — Pokémon, Pucca, Ne Zha, Looney Tunes, and finally Oggy. Each group brought their own color and charisma, turning the night into a celebration of imagination and teamwork. Despite just a week of preparation, every performance shone with passion and effort. The day ended beautifully with documentation and a closing note from the MC, wrapping up an inspiring first day.
The second day began energetically with a morning exercise session led by Eko and Fita, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day’s activities. Despite light rain, the participants’ spirits remained high as the committee came prepared with raincoats and ponchos — a small testament to their resilience and teamwork.
The outbound activities took place around the villa and featured four engaging stations designed to build cooperation and leadership. The first challenge, Game Maze, required teams of four to skillfully guide a marker toward its target — testing focus and coordination. The second and third games, held on the villa field, involved transferring balls in groups, encouraging creativity, discipline, and synchronization. The final station pushed participants to think critically and solve problems together, reinforcing teamwork under pressure. These activities not only strengthened bonds among participants but also embodied the essence of LDO’s spirit: “Guard the Unity, Spark the Movement, Shape the Future.”
The next highlight was the Case Study Session, where participants engaged in sharp, thought-provoking discussions that deepened their understanding of SAFEL’s departments. It served as both a bridge and a handover moment, connecting current SAFEL officers with the future leaders who would carry the organization forward.
As the event drew to a close, participants gathered for final documentation before boarding the buses back to campus. The journey ended with smiles, laughter, and a sense of fulfillment that lingered in the air.
I truly hope every participant walked away from LDO 2025 with lasting lessons, newfound confidence, and cherished memories. My deepest gratitude goes to everyone who made this event possible especially the dedicated LDO committee and the SAFEL 2025 board members for their passion, teamwork, and commitment in shaping a meaningful and successful program.
