Latihan Dasar Organisasi, known as LDO, is one of the work programs from Human Resources Development (HRD) to recruit new crews of UKM BAHASA ASING “SAFEL” UNY. This year’s theme for LDO is “Into the SAFEL Odyssey: Unveil Your Mind, Bond in Sight,” which has a meaningful yet quite challenging journey with SAFEL. The new candidate crews will be encouraged to discover and show off their talents, skills, and potential while developing relationships with others. This year, LDO was held offline on October 28–29, 2023, at Omah Noto Plankton, Kaliurang. Several stages must be completed during the journey with LDO: registration, interview, technical meeting, and the day.
The first stage is registration, which is open for SAFEL’s members from the first year until the third year. The registration was held on October 8–11, 2023. As the registration went great, the next one will be an interview. The new candidate crews of SAFEL will have an interview session with the head of the department. It went well; every candidate member was excited and gave their best answer. After that, there will be a technical meeting for the new SAFEL candidate crews. It was held on October 19, 2023, in the Student Center. The technical meeting is to share the information they should know before the day, such as things they need to complete, and they will be divided into groups for the day project. Everyone was happy during the technical meeting because, as they divided into groups, they started discussing the day’s LDO. They will start to work as a team to share their bits of knowledge and ideas as well.
Eventually, they reached the day of LDO. They will have two days and one night of activity during the day. On the day, many activities are done with the team, such as performing their last project, which was a drama or parody. Everyone is enjoying the performances because they’re truly funny, and they’re very amusing as well. The next morning, they had an outbound, which was also part of their teamwork. Discover and discuss things they should do and how to solve them with the right steps without getting anyone hurt. It was very entertaining and training their skills to do great teamwork.
Then, in the afternoon, they will have a study case where each department will visit their group to give several questions they need to answer. It was a serious session, and everything went great. They gave their best answer and reaction related to the question that had been given. After that, we have the coronation part, which will decide the king and queen of LDO 2023. The coronation went full of laughter; they all enjoyed the last agenda item. Then, we had to close, as they would go back home. I am expressing my endless gratitude to the committee and the participants who joined LDO, and I hope in the end you will have your best result for your great effort. See you in LDO 2024!
