Community Visit is a program held by the Public Relation Department of UKM SAFEL UNY which facilitates other organizations or institutions to connect with SAFEL. The aims of the program are to welcome those organizations or institutions, to increase our relations, and to widen our knowledge about organizational things. This year, we held a Community Visit together with the UKM Bahasa FLAT UIN Jakarta. FLAT stands for Foreign Languages Association Training. Community Visit was held on July 1, 2022. FLAT is a new relationship that has been successfully established through the 2022 Community Visit.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we could only welcome FLAT UIN’s visit via an online platform, which is Zoom Cloud Meeting. Despite that, we still managed to gain a lot of new information, new insights, and, most importantly, new friends. At the beginning of the event, we got to know more about each organization by seeing presentations done by our presidents. The presentation PowerPoint was so cool and it contained a lot of information about the departments, the staff, and the programs. The chat section was never empty. As the President explained their presentation, we had a fun chat to get to know them more.
Besides listening to interesting presentations from each president, we also played games through Quizziz, which were fun and emotional at the same time. The game felt so challenging because we were so ambitious to be in the top 3 to get the fake prizes. Don’t forget about the memento session. The mementos this year were a little different since the two presidents met in person. Doesn’t that sound like a lot of fun?
Last, we got to know even more about their department staff by having a chit-chat with them in FGD sessions. We shared our experience, our programs, our mistakes, and our difficulties while we ran the organizations. We talked a lot in this FGD session. Until the 45 minutes that have been given feel less.
Overall, the event went well. We could get a lot of new insights and make new friends. It was so good to get to know FLAT UIN better and be a close friend of theirs. We hope this relationship will never be cut off, no matter what happens to us. FLAT, see you on YLD! XOXO!! -Iqbal
