CMagz is one of the work programs of the Cross Cultural Understanding–Learning Media (CCU-LM) Department, presented in the form of a magazine. CMagz compiles writings about the work programs of the Foreign Language Student Activity Unit (SAFEL), interesting cultural facts, and outstanding works from the staff and members of SAFEL. CMagz also invites readers to interact by presenting a Crossword Puzzle activity with attractive prizes. Readers can complete and submit their answers to win these prizes.
CMagz is not only a publication medium but also a platform for self-development for the staff and members of SAFEL. The process of preparing the magazine involves solid teamwork, starting from collecting articles, editing, to designing visuals. Each individual contributes according to their expertise, making CMagz a collective work that reflects creativity, dedication, and the spirit of collaboration.
This year, CMagz was officially released on August 4. In this edition, CMagz carries the theme “The Pirate Caribbean” with the tagline: “Sailing Through Languages, Anchored in Culture.” The theme highlights the spirit of exploration and the search for meaning in the diversity of languages and cultures. Just like pirates who sail without boundaries, readers are invited to broaden their horizons, explore language as a tool for adventure, and culture as the true treasure. In the midst of globalization, language is not only a means of communication but also a compass to understand our roots and identity. The grand theme “The Pirate Caribbean” becomes the main attraction of this edition. Through articles, literary works, and creative visualizations, readers are taken into the adventurous world of pirates. It is not only presented as entertainment but also as a medium for cross-language and cross-cultural learning.
Apart from being a creative platform, CMagz also serves as a medium of cultural and linguistic literacy that connects students with the outside world. In each of its pages, CMagz presents content that is not only entertaining but also enriching. Readers will find reviews of SAFEL’s innovative programs, cultural articles from various parts of the world, as well as literary works such as poetry, short stories, and other creations made by SAFEL’s talented staff and members.
With its beautiful and engaging design and content, CMagz 2025 is expected to become an inspiring space for students, especially the members and staff of SAFEL, to continue creating and innovating. In the future, CMagz is expected to continue developing into a more innovative and inspiring magazine. Not only limited to the campus scope, but it also has the potential to reach a wider audience. With attractive visual design, informative articles, and imaginative themes, this magazine reflects not only the spirit of SAFEL but also the spirit of the younger generation—eager for knowledge, adventure, and cross-cultural understanding.
