The HRD department of UKM Bahasa Asing “SAFEL”, successfully hosted its annual UPGRADING program for 2024 under the theme “Dancing Among the Trees: Harmonizing Diversity, Strengthening Friendships.” This internal program aimed to enhance the interpersonal relationships among SAFEL members, foster self-development, and restore the spirit of the organization’s leadership. The chosen theme reflected the aspiration to create an environment where participants could experience both the freedom and joy of being in nature, while also addressing any tire they may have encountered during their term of service. This initiative also served as a platform for reflection and evaluation, with the ultimate goal of strengthening commitment, cooperation, and inclusivity within the SAFEL community.
The event took place at PKBM Bina Karya in Piyungan, Yogyakarta, a location selected for its serene and inspiring surroundings. The program kicked off with the timely arrival of participants, demonstrating a high level of discipline and commitment from all involved. The day began with a warm welcome speech, setting the tone for a productive and engaging session. The highlight of the first day was a keynote address by Fatika Chandra Annisa, who delivered an insightful presentation on “How to Develop Yourself Through Interpersonal Skills.” Her session provided participants with valuable insights into self-improvement and interpersonal communication, which are crucial for personal and professional growth. The evening activities included a rotating paper session, where participants shared ideas and experiences, fostering a deeper connection among them. This was followed by a bonfire, symbolizing unity and shared purpose, and a cultural performance night that showcased the creativity and talents of the participants, further enhancing the camaraderie within the group.
The following morning began with a refreshing group exercise session, designed to invigorate both body and mind. This was followed by an outdoor adventure, featuring a series of challenging and collaborative activities that tested the participants’ teamwork and problem-solving abilities. These activities not only served as a physical exercise but also reinforced the importance of collaboration and mutual support among team members. As the program drew to a close, participants left with a sense of fulfillment and a renewed sense of purpose. The experience left a lasting impression, with many taking away valuable lessons and memories that would inspire them in their future endeavors.
As the person in charge, I hope that this Upgrading program will be remembered as a pivotal moment for all involved, a time when we not only developed our capacities but also strengthened our teamwork and deepened our sense of community. With the strong spirit and commitment demonstrated during this event, I am confident that each member of SAFEL is now better equipped to face the challenges ahead with greater confidence. May this program continue to be a cornerstone for our collective success, providing a solid foundation for the future achievements of SAFEL.
