Soft Skills Training is a workshop activity that aims to train the crew of the SAFEL Student Activity Forum in mastering certain skills, such as leadership, people management, making designs, and cross-cultural understanding and language. Thus, the crew will be able to carry out organizational activities at the Student Activity Forum of “SAFEL” smoothly and can increase the creativity of each crew.

Soft Skills Training 2024 was held on Sunday, March 17 at 10.30 WIB at the UNY Student Center on the 2nd floor. ” Explore Your Passion, Cultivate Imagination, and Elevate Your Self Development with SAFEL ” was the theme of this event to show new skills acquired and then improved rapidly.

The event was opened by the Master of Ceremony followed by a warm welcome from the Head of Soft Skills Training, Aulia Mahdini, and then Angeli Carissa as President of SAFEL. The event continued with bureaucratic training by the Secretary of SAFEL, Dinda Pandanwangi, and the Treasurer of SAFEL, Rizki Amalia Putri Hidayat.

This agenda is going well. The participants were enthusiastic to ask the speakers what they didn’t know, they also actively participated in the workshop activities. So, when the session presenter gives the wrong proposal format, participants can justify it easily. With this bureaucratic training, participants are expected to become secretaries or treasurers of any event at SAFEL anytime and anywhere.

The next agenda was the presentation session and people management and design workshop guided by Adila as the head of the HRD department and Ayya as the head of the PR department. In this session, the participants were also very enthusiastic, even more enthusiastic than in the previous session, especially when the design workshop session participants were divided into three groups to make designs in a limited time and present them. Even though the time given is relatively fast, their designs were good and attractive.

The third core agenda was a Foreign Language and Cross-Cultural Understanding presentation session and workshop with Zahra as head of FOLT department and Audy as head of CCU-LM department. This session was no less interesting, after the presentation of the material participants were divided into 6 groups with different country divisions. Each group was asked to make introductions according to their respective countries. Who would have thought that each group managed to introduce themselves in a different language.

The next session was a presentation and workshop on leadership and public speaking by Angeli as president of SAFEL and Yudi as head of PS department. After the presentation session of very useful material, the participants were again divided into 3 groups to conduct a case study with limited time and present it. All groups completed their case studies and presented them very well.

After the presentation and workshop session, the event continued with a quizizz game with short questions about cultures in several SAFEL countries. In this agenda, the participants seemed to have fun while trying to answer the questions given, they seemed enthusiastic to get high points. Not only that, participants were also given a post-test to measure the extent of their understanding of the materials that had been presented.

Upon completion, participants were given the opportunity to express their impressions of the message during this soft skills training. Next is the announcement of The Most Active in each session, there are Shari, Izzy, Ilzama, and Izra. They are considered more active than other participants so they deserve appreciation.
The event was closed by giving mementos to the speakers and taking photos together. It is expected that this event will provide many benefits for the participants.

Thank you to the entire committee, our presenters, and all participants who participated in this event. Hopefully, we can meet again in soft skills training in 2025. Aamiin.
