Penerimaan Anggota Baru, known as PAB, is an annual work program from Human Resources Development (HRD) to search for new members of UKM BAHASA ASING “SAFEL” UNY. This year PAB has the theme “Enchanto of Safel: Discover the Key, Unlock the Journey, and Let Our Magic Begin,” which means there will be many opportunities for new members of SAFEL to discover things they haven’t learned before and to have a thrilling journey with SAFEL. This year PAB was held offline in August–September 2023. There are several stages to PAB, starting with the display of UKM, registration, Studium Generale, interview, announcement for new members, and the last, the inauguration.
Display UKM was held at GOR UNY on August 9, 2023. This is the first stage of PAB SAFEL, which aims to promote UKM BAHASA ASING “SAFEL” UNY to new students at Yogyakarta State University. The new students can come to the SAFEL booth to get a stamp and to learn about SAFEL. There will be a committee to answer all the questions and promote the registration of SAFEL. The second stage is registration, which opened with two batches: the first batch on August 9–August 13, 2023, and the second batch on August 14–August 16, 2023.
After that, there is a Studium General, which aims to introduce SAFEL deeper to the new batch of SAFEL members. This was held on August 26, 2023. In this third stage, every department will present their work programs to the new candidate of SAFEL, as they will open questions and answers to let new candidate members know better. It was amazing, and everyone is excited about SAFEL’s work programs and also wants to contribute later. Then, in the next stage, the new candidate members of SAFEL will have an interview. They will be asked by each head of the department about their pieces of knowledge in SAFEL that have been explained before in Studium General. They all answer perfectly.
In the next stage, there will be an announcement of SAFEL members, which was published on September 8, 2023. The announcement will be shared on SAFEL’s website, and the notice will be displayed on SAFEL’s Instagram. The last stage is the inauguration, which is the stage where they will celebrate their effort after having passed so many stages to be accepted as SAFEL’s members. They were very happy when they came on September 16, 2023. Smiles are engraved through their faces, as eventually they are officially SAFEL’s members and can’t wait to have joyous things in here.
The hope for new members is that they can find their answer and journey in SAFEL. You will also improve new skills in SAFEL. I am sending countless gratitude to all the committee who already helped the process of PAB. Let’s cherish the moments together and discover new things to learn.
