Learning Media is one of the work programs from department CCU-LM SAFEL UNY. Learning Media aims to provide an interactive and educative learning medium to help SAFEL members, UNY students, and the general public learn about foreign languages and cultures. Learning Media #2 2023 was held online on the Wordwall platform from September 10th to 24th, 2023.
Learning Media #2 has the theme “Digversity: an adventurous experience digging fun knowledge”. Bring the concept of adventure into the forest, continuing from Learning Media #1. Learning Media #2 invites players to go on an adventure exploring the forest in search of knowledge with fun games that contain questions from various countries, such as England, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, and China.
Learning Media #2 uses a multiple-choice game system by discussing the country’s iconic culture, traditional clothing, food, cities or country landmarks, and others. Learning Media #2 uses game rules by writing an Instagram username. Whoever is the fastest and most accurate will be the winner. The first country is English. In Learning Media #2, the highlights of this country are the cities in English, the country’s culture, namely music, and historical places in English. English is ranked second with the most players in Learning Media #2 and has exceeded the player target, totaling 125 players.
The second is South Korea. Highlights from South Korea discuss traditional clothing, traditional food, iconic South Korean films, dramas, music, the culture, and much more. South Korea is ranked second with the most players in Learning Media #2, totaling 120 players.
The third country is Japan. Topics discussed include traditional food, traditional clothing, traditional sports, currency, and the country’s iconic culture (origami, dance, and Japanese animation). Japan is ranked third with the most players in Learning Media #2, totaling 75 players.
The country of Germany contains questions about historical places in German, typical food, traditional clothing, traditions of the first day of school in German, cities in German, and everyday German language. Players in German are 72. The fifth is China. Here we will discuss everyday Chinese language, traditional dress, China’s dynasties, traditional sports, and cities in China. Players in China are 70. The final country in SAFEL is France. Here we discuss the country’s landmarks, typical French food, French cities, everyday language, and iconic things and culture in France. Players from this country reach 60.
Learning Media #2 2023 has a total of 522 participants. The six players with the fastest scores and times will be the winners. Each country will have a winner. So the total number of winners is six people. Winners will be announced via the Instagram story @safeluny with the Instagram username tag of each winner. Confirmation of winners regarding prizes takes place 1 x 24 hours after the announcement. After exceeding the target given and having handed over the winning prizes, we got good feedback from 42 people. Both are SAFEL members, UNY students outside SAFEL, and students outside UNY. It means Learning Media #2 2023 has been played by a wide audience. Therefore, it can be concluded that Learning Media #2 2023 has been successful.
