Good afternoon! I hope you are all doing well. In today’s article, I will discuss one of the Public Relations work programs called Community Visit. Before we begin, I want to express my gratitude to all my beloved partners or KORPRI members who made this event successful, especially my head of department, Fany. You guys truly lit it up!
The purpose of Community visits is to welcome various organizations and institutions to foster better relations and expand our knowledge about organizational matters. Ultimately, this helps us improve our management and organization.
Moreover, through this event, we can learn how other organizations manage their operations. By comparing their practices with ours, we can identify areas where we need to enhance our management or develop new meaningful work programs. This year, a community visit was scheduled for July 19th, 2023, in collaboration with the EFEC Collaboration of the University of Trunojoyo Madura. Thanks to this collaboration, we successfully built a new harmonious relationship.
Originally, the plan was to hold the Community Visit offline. However, due to certain conditions and reasons, we had to welcome EFEC Collaboration via an online platform using Zoom meetings. The event started with greetings from both our president and EFEC Collaboration’s president. Following that, we proceeded to the group discussion forum, conducted in breakout rooms.
During this session, our departments were divided into four separate rooms, each paired with EFEC departments as follows:
- Core committees of SAFEL and EFEC Collaboration
- Public Relations for SAFEL and Information and Communication, as well as Public Relations for EFEC Collaboration
- Research and Development from EFEC Collaboration, FOLT, CCU-LLM, SDC, and SAFELITE from SAFEL
- HRD from EFEC Collaboration, HRD, Public Speaking, and EDS from SAFEL UNY
In the breakout rooms, staff from both organizations are engaged in focus group discussion by chatting with each other, mainly about our own experiences, programs, challenges, and anything in between regarding the inner workings of SAFEL and EFEC Collaboration. Of course, while at it, we’re not only talking about our organizations but also getting to know each other so we can foster a better human connection. Overall, with this session, we felt a sense of bonding together and rejoiced in the fun of it!
The focus group discussions lasted approximately 45 minutes, after which we reconvened in the main room. There, we presented the meeting notes (also known as “notula” in Indonesian) from each breakout room. The fun didn’t stop there, as we engaged in games together, sharing laughter and excitement that further strengthened our bonds.
Last but certainly not least, we concluded the Community Visit by cherishing the memories we created together during this event. In this closing session, we reflected on how we got to know each other, from the focus group discussions in the breakout rooms to the joyful games we played together. While it was fun, there was also a tinge of sadness as we realized we would part ways after this session.
Overall, the event was a success in fostering a deeper collaboration between SAFEL UNY and the EFEC Collaboration of the University of Trunojoyo Madura. We not only shared laughter but also gained valuable insights into the inner workings of each other’s organizations. We are grateful for this learning opportunity and look forward to future collaborations with them. Until next time, adiós, EFEC Collaboration!
