Open House SAFEL 2023, one of the first annual work programs held by the Human
Resources Department of Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Bahasa Asing SAFEL Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta aims to introduce our organization, both through the various work programs that will be held this year and to introduce SAFEL to new members, students at UNY, and the general public.
Open House SAFEL 2023 was held on Friday, February 10 at 15.30 PM on the 1st floor of the UNY Student Center. In this event, we raise the theme, “SAFEL’S Warm and Lovely Greetings; We Greet You with Our Love and Joy.” Participants were quite enthusiastic about attending this event because it was held offline again after only being held online for 2 years due to the pandemic of COVID-19.
The event began with an opening greeting by the master of ceremonies. Then, it was followed by an opening speech from Bagas Putra Pratama as the Chief of Committee, Christina Vieny as the President of SAFEL, and a warm speech from Ms. Nila Kurnila Sari as an advisor to SAFEL that was delivered by President SAFEL.
After getting a warm welcome from the MC, Open House Chief of Committee, and President of SAFEL and the Advisor of SAFEL, the event continued with the inauguration of the UKM Bahasa Asing SAFEL’s management for the 2023 period. With the inauguration carried out by the President of SAFEL, everyone listed on the banner structure has formally become part of the SAFEL board and is ready to participate in activities this year.
Continuing after the inauguration, presentations were held from each part of SAFEL. They
introduced who was in each department and also explained what their work programs would be during this period. It is hoped that participants will get to know each part of SAFEL and be able to participate in subsequent activities.
This presentation was initiated by Pengurus Inti (PI), consisting of the President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Then it is continued with public relations (PR), human research development, and (HRD) and Public Speaking (PS), in which there is an English Debate Society (EDS) sub-departments and Foreign Language Training (FOLT), and continued with Cross-Cultural Learning Media (CCU-LM), in which there are Safelite and Safel Dance Club (SDC) sub-departments.
Not only presentations, but games were also held here led by Hani, which consisted of guessing in English. There is also a costume parade performed by several models in different types of clothing from various countries. Apart from that, there was also a special performance from Safelite in the middle of the event and dancing from the Safel Dance Club (SDC) at the end of the event.
