Mading or Wall Magazine is one of the work programs of the Department of Cross Cultural Understanding-Learning Media. The purpose of Wall Magazine is to introduce work programs or activities in the Foreign Language UKM “SAFEL”. The 2021 Mading theme carries the theme of Ancient Egypt. In previous years, Wall Magazine was held live, but due to the pandemic, Mading was held online.
The Mading held by the CCU-LM department really needs to be held because it will provide knowledge to the general public about the work programs at SAFEL. In this way, it is hoped that the general public, especially students of Yogyakarta State University, will become more familiar with SAFEL.
Mading 2021 will be held on April 28, 2021. The implementation of Mading is different from previous years, because this year it uses the ArtSteps application. The application is an application that can create online art exhibitions. We can open it via the web or mobile app. To see the Mading that has been made, viewers can press the link that has been created. Later, when we enter the ArtSteps application, we can freely do virtual tours, so it will be as if we are in the room. in addition, we can reduce or enlarge the image that we are looking at which is like a painting.
In this Mading, the media comes from the Core Management (PI), five departments, such as Public Speaking (PS), Public Relations (PR), Cross Cultural Understanding-Learning Media (CCU-LM), Human Resources Development (HRD), with Sub Department of SAFEL Dance Club, SAFELITE, and English Debating Society. The media in this magazine is an introduction to the SAFEL management and the work programs that have been implemented.
For the theme used in this year’s mading is Ancient Egypt, why is that? This is because we use a theme that smells like a museum as well and feels Ancient Egypt can represent it. This theme is also considered to have a very strong culture and art and is suitable for use. As for the difficulty or challenge, that is, viewers are not familiar with ArtSteps, the hope is that next year’s magazine will be better than this year’s.
