Broadening knowledge through connections, a case that people need to do is connecting with each other. In the context of establishing good relations and sharing new knowledge, UKM BAHASA ASING “SAFEL” UNY held a project called “Networking“. This year we were collaborating with Gamabunta UGM. Located in the same region of Yogyakarta made this relationship felt even more special.
This event went well with a variety of programs. The first event was the opening from Gamabunta. After that, the second event was a presentation from Gamabunta’s President and “SAFEL”’s President. In this presentation, the two Presidents explained about events, work programs and all divisions in both organizations. This presentation aimed to provide an overview of the organization. In addition, this presentation was a place for sharing knowledge. The next program was the question session, in this session, the audience were asking questions if there were still unclear explanations.
In this year’s networking, a lot of excitement happened, one of which was a karaoke session together with singing Japanese songs. Japanese as one of the languages in “SAFEL”, therefore, “SAFEL” crews like the Japanese language. Therefore, when Gamabunta members invited “SAFEL” crews to karaoke the Japanese songs, they were happy and sang together. Some crews who didn’t understand Japanese also sang, because Gamabunta provides the lyrics.
This networking event was closed with a game. Gamabunta made a game to play together. The game is called “Kahoot”. “Kahoot” is a game that contains a lot of questions. Gamabunta had prepared various questions about Japanese culture. Such as the name of traditional clothes, place names and others. This game provided some new insights and educative things for “SAFEL” crews. After that, “SAFEL” and Gamabunta members took a group photo and this session was the last session of this networking event. Finally, the event finished well and satisfactorily. (Ayu)
