UPGRADING program of 2025 was successfully held by the HRD department of UKM
Bahasa Asing “SAFEL” on the 31st of May and the 1st of June 2025 with the theme “Together We Shine, United We Rise.” This internal program aimed to upgrade the crews’ general skills, interpersonal knowledge, and relationships among themselves. The chosen theme encouraged SAFEL’s crews to work hard and cooperate with each other. Thus, symbolizing unity and harmony. This program also served as a recreation to reignite the crews’ spirit after going through half of their term of service.
The program took place at Student and Multicultural Center, State University of Yogyakarta on the first day and Wisma Kaliurang, Yogyakarta, on the second day. Wisma Kaliurang was selected as the location because of its calming atmosphere and naturally serene surroundings. The program started with welcoming speeches from the head of the program, president, and the advisor of SAFEL, setting off a joyous occasion. The highlight of the first day at the Student Center was the presentation session by Selma Intan Oktapristis on “Navigating Challenges with Growth Mindset.” The session provided the participants with valuable knowledge to realize self-worth and not stuck with fixed mindset, which are really important for everyone to know about if they want to grow as a person.
After the break, SAFEL’s crews headed to Wisma Kaliurang altogether. The evening activities at Wisma Kaliurang included a rotating paper session, where participants shared their experiences, impressions, messages, and ideas, solidifying and deepening the bonds between the crews. Then, it was followed by the performances from all the pre-determined groups, showcasing the creativity, talents, and confidence of the participants, further enhancing the connections between one and another.
The following morning began with exercise to make the participants ready before the
outdoor and outbound session. It featured a series of challenging and entertaining
activities to test the participants teamwork, problem-solving, and quick-thinking abilities. These activities also served as a reminder of how important collaboration and mutual supports are among the crews. As the program drew to a close, participants were left with a sense of fulfillment, renewed sense of purpose, and happy hearts. The experience left a lasting impression, with many taking away valuable lessons, memories, and experiences that would inspire them in their future ventures.
As the person in charge, I hope that this UPGRADING program will be remembered as a historical moment for those who were involved. I hope that the spirit and commitment will last until the end of time. I am confident to say that each crew is now better equipped than ever to face challenges ahead with their heads up high. May this program continue to be a milestone for our collective successes and become a solid foundation for the achievements to come.
