As all of you may know, SAFEL’s Public Relations (PR) department runs a program called Networking. The goal of Networking is to strengthen and maintain relationships between SAFEL and several organizations in Yogyakarta that share SAFEL’s backgrounds and goals. This year we had two Networking events! We visited Student English Activity (SEA) at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) last April. This September we welcomed the English Conversation & Discussion Club (ECDC) from “Veteran” National Development University of Yogyakarta (UPNVYK) as our guest for Networking II with the theme “Building Networks in Diversity Through the Development of Effective Communication and Intercultural Understanding Among the Organization.”

The Student and Multicultural Center, 3rd Floor Hall, State University of Yogyakarta (UNY) was the venue for our second networking event. The event was officially opened by our MCs, Cynta and Awa, on September 21, 2024, at 09.15 a.m. We began the occasion by singing Indonesia Raya as a group. Next, the presidents of the two organizations—Kak Ahmad from ECDC and Kak Angeli from SAFEL—spoke their opening greetings. Following the introductions, Kak Angeli was invited back to the stage to share a lot of things about SAFEL and the crews! Following Kak Angeli’s presentation, two games were played. It piqued the interest of SAFEL and ECDC and was very enjoyable.

The presentation of ECDC by Kak Ahmad was our next agenda. We learned a great deal about ECDC, including their work programs, organizational structures, crews, and other details. The Forum Group Discussion (FGD) or Sharing Session was another feature of this event. The departments that SAFEL and ECDC were housed in led to their splits into multiple teams. SAFEL and ECDC talked wholeheartedly about various aspects of each organization. Everyone found the FGD to be enjoyable. A memento handover between ECDC and SAFEL marked the conclusion of the event.

SAFEL would like to thank ECDC UPNVYK from the bottom of our hearts for their enthusiastic visit. We hope that the bond we create will last for a very long time. Before I end this article, I, Yhara, the Person in Command (PIC) of Networking, would like to thank my Produce family, Ayya, Chalika, Aurel, Nasywa, Fatimah, Nanaz, Izzy, Risda, Cynta, and Fisya, once more for your hard work on Networking II.

That concludes Networking II. See you all at the next networking event!

-Yhara
